I am in the process of re-assembling the headstock on my 10k and have run into a small issue. When I begin to press in the spindle, the bronze bushings start to slip and it throws off the alignment for the bottom oilers. Now the back bushing I can re-align by using a small allen key to push it forwards but have no way to do the same thing for the right hand / chuck side bushing.
If I tighten the 4 screws on the gibs to lock in the bushing, now the tips of the screws interfere with the spindle. I could always take them to the belt sander to trim them a bit but I feel there is something else I might be able to do without any modifications.
Any tips? Thanks
