Hi everyone,

I'm new to forums so I apologize ahead of time for any mistakes I may make.

I just bought a 13x40 South Bend lathe and being fairly new as a South Bend owner I have found a few parts/tools that I can't figure out what they may be for. I have attached two photos of two different parts. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Adam, the bracket on the top is for the micrometer stop. I have the same configuration on my heavy ten. Good luck.

Gearbox stops you moving the micrometer bed stop far enough back on the bed to use it when working close in with collets or faceplate. Bracket puts the stop above the gearbox so it can go further back. Pictures below of the Heavy 10 micrometer stop in normal position and on bracket.

I suspect second casting is simply a different version of the same thing, maybe not even SouthBend as I believe same idea was used on some other machines.
