Well, I went and gave it a try, bought a serial number card from grizzly to see if the number 121456, were in fact the serial number and sure enough!

Don't know much about Wolverine Bolt co, but a quick google shows a lawsuit from a woman who chopped off some fingers in 1945 working for them, and another link where they are shown as dealers for phillips screws in an old add, also from 1945:

Yes, I've tried researching the company who originally bought my lathe to see if I can't track down any additional info or paperwork on my lathe, I ran across that lawsuit, it carried on for roughly 10-15 years it seemed.
