I would not run the machine but clean the surface well and roll by hand with mapping (mark with a few turns) the error to see it repeats. I suspect many run .0005 or so at that position..

I'm not familiar with the heavy 10 spindle, so excuse the Q. Is that with the collet insert, or is that right on the lathe bare spindle taper?

If that holds for deeper in the taper it is just about perfect for TIR , but doesn't tell everything.

Outside is the same or better. Surface inside is very good for a 50 year old lathe. I may reach back I there a bit and check it.
