Spindle Thread Size on my 10K

Needing to get a new chuck. How do I figure out what the thread size on the spindle is for my Southbend 10K? Any suggestions on sources for a 3 jaw chuck under $200?

My 10K has 1 1/2-8 threads.

The spindle threads measure just like a bolt...
Diameter and number of threads per inch...

I just did a quick look and there is a usable 6" out there in the mess....

If you are in Phoenix send me a PM and we can figure out the rest from there... Ohhh I also have a new 2 HP VFD sitting on a shelf.
