    Default Spindle wicks

How often should the wicks be replaced?

    Cheers

Only need replacing if they have been allowed to dry out and get hard. My 10K is fairly new, 1978, and the wicks are soft and nice.

Thanks. mine have been in about 3 years. I am looking at replacing the belt and have a choice between a serpentine belt which means stripping the headstock or using a piece of haybaler belting which would be spliced. If the wicks needed changing I would go the serpentine route,

Call here, about 40 bucks gets you a 2 ply synthetic( non stetching) belt that is 5/32" thick x 1" wide with the alligator clip lacing.
You get the grip of the serp type belt with the easy installation of the clip style.
