    Default Tool I.D.

I was checking out ebay late last night and came across this.

    Original South Bend Hardinge Lathe 3 3C Collets (8) 16THS 1/16"-1/2" w/Tooling | eBay

I was just curious as to what it is if anyone knows.

It is a set of collets, used in place of a chuck, used for very accurate work.

Sold for a pretty good price.

I know they are collets. I was just wondering about that fixture. Don't know what that is.

The one on the left is a headstock adapter for the collets but instead of a draw tube to tighten the collets you use a bar to turn the nut. The other one looks shop made.
