I have 3 Aloris AXA 5C collet holders in new shape. One is missing the collet nut.

$40 each holder, plus shipping. Will Ship USPS Flat Rate or whatever you prefer.

I am TEMPTED to say I'll take one, too.

However, I'm not sure I understand what they are or do.

We have a South Bend 10L lathe that has a 5C holder and we also have some 5C collets and collet fixtures such as a spin indexer.

Upon doing an ebay search I saw several critters like yours but they mentioned "CNC" holders.

My dumb question is:

Are these a CNC accessory? Or do they have utility in the world of manual machining?

If for example one of these tool holders would enable me to easily chuck up a boring bar or some other tool into the tool post, then I would indeed like to have the other one that is not missing the collet nut.

If it's a CNC only doo-dad, I would have no use for it.

Would you mind educating me about this point?

Thanks!

Vernon

I think I've answered my own question by reviewing an ebay offering.

If the answer is indeed "Yes! These can be used for a quick tool shank change on a manual lathe with an AXA tool post" then I will take the other one.

If the spare collet nut can be purchased for not too much money and you will price the third one accordingly, I will take them both.

Under the circumstances, I suggest we go to PM and negotiate.

I'm in for one of the complete ones at $40 though.

Thanks!

Ok, that was fast. :)

I have PMs from both of you. I will get shipping figured out tomorrow.

For now, consider all 3 sold.

Thanks guys.
