Adjustable lathe dogs

Are those actually called grinding carriers instead of lathe dogs? (for cylindrical grinding)

I dont think so. I think officially they are bent-tail lathe dogs, for holding non-round work.
The ones for grinders have a round window for the workpiece, and a V-shaped notch on the outside to engage a drive pin typically attached to a rotating part of the workhead spindle.

Yes, after a second look, I agree they are lathe dogs, due to the tail..They look like they are well-made...
