I have one of these you made. Years ago I purchased a slotting head and you offered a shaft to repair it.
It works great. Perfect fit and no slop in it.

Is this the shaft that the pulley attaches to on the top?

This is what adjusts the stroke of the mechanism. If there is a skip in the adjustment, a sudden dropping of the ram, or a binding in it, it is most likely due to a broken Pinion Gear in the adjuster. This lives under the nut on the graduated dial.
