Have a perfectly functioning micrometer carriage stop. Part number stamped on end MCS-101FH. No other P/N's visible. Was represented to me as fitting a 13" does kind of, spindle strikes carriage in the wrong spot. Could put a contact plate on the carriage, but I'd rather have one that fit. From the parts manual I believe it to fit a 14.5, a 16",16/24" and a 2H. $225 shipped CON U.S. or offer. More shipping to other areas. If I am incorrect on the fit, please advise.L1030760.JPGL1030759.JPGL1030762.JPGL1030763.JPGL1030760.JPGL1030759.JPGL1030762.JPGL1030763.JPG

Thank you

Interesting, different design. Is it stamped MCS-101T? I suspected that mine might be relatively new.

Hey Tom,
No marking whatsoever. It did have a catalog number of 973 from at least 1934 to 1948.The design changed about 1949 and the 1958 catalog shows a style with catalog number 973 and 973-ME for metric.
Later the catalog number changed to CL968T or CL 968TME for metric.
A lot of back story about South Bend lathes an be found here: http://www.wswells.com/index.html
Thanks to Steve Wells for hosting!

Your micrometer stop looks like the 1958-1966 vintage or later.
Found mine, new 1937.

Evening John
I figure I owe Steve Wells many favors.

The 13" part number does have the letter T at the end, 16" FH.

Are those your catalogues? I have some little 1.5" X 2.5" folding flyers. Keep'em in my treasure drawer.

Tom,
No, not my catalogs. But anyone can download and save. I go to "Edit" in the pdf and click on "take a snapshot" and then paste to a picture program like Microsoft Photo Editor that came with Microsoft Office, maybe 2000 or 2003.
That is how the attachments made it into this post after a little tweeking for contrast or color..
John
