This Federal 8-9" gauge is in good working condition. The gage is made to be preset to a narrow range that you need to inspect, within the 8" to 9" range. The Federal Maxum indicator (removable for other uses) is super sensitive and measures a total of 10 thousands. (the photo shows it measuring .0047) It would work good in a custom surface plate inspection gauge. These units sold for over $1000.00
