proof smart companies do dumb things

36 inch tilt rotary table in local shop--tilt assist spring snapped
table came from GE Power Systems auction about 3 years ago--broke
one of 10 sold

so--if anyone has lead on replacement--I will pass on to owner

Hey Jackson take a look at the assist springs used on car trailers with attached ramps. The one tail will not have that curved shape but might get the guy out of a bind.

I think I've seen some dumpster lids (non-plastic) with long-armed springs on 'em, too.
Might be room for a sleeved repair, too. Can probably get away with having a short non-flexible bit.

McMaster-Carr has many different kinds of torsion springs. 2 separate springs without the connection in the middle should work. They also offer made to order springs.

You need to know the OD, wire diameter, and number of turns... Then you can order a direct replacement.

You may want to contact these folks... I have purchased garage door springs from them before and they are very knowledgeable.

Have Century Spring in L.A. check if they supplied the spring...

Or supply specs and have them make one.
