F.S. - Pratt Burnerd 8" lathe chuck

For sale is a Pratt Burnerd 3 jaw, 3 pinion, lathe chuck.
8" OD with about a 2-3/16 center hole.
All pinions turn easy and operate as they should.
Chuck is in Good to VG condition. Jaws show little wear and are reversible.
Light to medium surface rust removed easily with Scotchbrite and a little elbow grease.
This chuck has NO BACK and is ready for your lathe mount.

The chuck has no back plate. It is also missing its back plate. That style needs a backer that supports the chuck pinions.

At least I am pretty sure. I have one here I took appart to swap plates and looked identical inside. The back plate had curved bosses to support the pinion.

Mebfab, Your post is erroneous. Being pretty sure is not good enough. Get the facts man. The pinions in this chuck are supported at both ends. The large end of the pinion is supported in the chuck OD (body) and the small end has a pilot which fits into a hole in, but not through the bore in this chuck. This chuck is not missing anything but a mounting plate so I doubt they were identical. This set up is clearly superior as it needs no intermediate plate as in the one you have. Are you interested in purchasing? Thanks for the help???
