Scrapping (Junking) surface grinder chuck-Copper recovery-worth it?

Got either a 36 or 48" Walker electro-magnetic surface grinder chuck. I tried selling it (cheap) awhile back with no interest. Curious if any of you guys have tried getting the copper out of one of them?

depending on what type it is, you can pull the top off and then get to the coils.

but it may not be worth the effort if you have to burn the copper out and will only get 1-2$ a pound for it.

Milland, I sent you an e-mail. If anyone else might be interested in it, I checked this morning and its a 10" X 60". Never used it, but the previous owner said it worked.

Only make sense if you need the money to buy meth. Otherwise your time is better spent flipping burgers at minimum wage.

No, that's illegal.

Unless the meth dealer also has a metal recyclers license.

I think the meth heads have to sell the copper for cash then use the cash to buy the meth. that may have changed since California passed a law that the scrap yards have to copy ID of the metal sellers and the car license plate must be recorded before payment. And the payment must be made by check.
