Did Elgin Tool Works make an 8" lathe? I have read they made 7" lathes in Elgin. They made totally different 7" and 9" lathes in Chicago. I think have a 9" Chicago slide rest (with two cranks) and a 7" Chicago lever cross slide.

Yes, it is a circa 1940 Chicago 9" lathe. So do you want a slide rest or a lever cross slide?

Yes, I took that picture of one of my Elgin 9" slide rests. The Hardinge 9" slide rests for their split bed lathes will fit a 9" Elgin. I also have Hardinge slide rests
