Default Toyoda MC-256 drive control manual wanted

I have several early 1990's Toyoda HMC's that have a MC-256 controller running a servo driven pallet changer. One is reacting strangely and I don't want to make a boatload more work for my ignorance. There is an LCD "pendent" snapped on each machine. Are the params stored in this pendent or are they deeper in the drive? The pendent is not responding, I can't tell if there is anything wrong with the drive. I am getting occasional overtravel errors after tearing the 4th out to repair a hydraulic leak. I think I need to adjust zeroing a few thousandths of a degree, but I can run until I know what I am doing. anybody have a manual/ knowledge of these things? How many cvariants are there?

bump with more info - the machine will be running program and changing pallets, about every 10 cycles the lcd on the MC-256 says: ERR10 KEY ER2. I have no clue what this is trying to tell me, the mc-256 is undocumented in the literature I received. anybody able to help?
