Need more help!

I have a Sharp Lathe with a variable speed controler and a 5 hp spindle motor that is wired for 220 3 phase. The pump is wired for 110 single phase.

I only have 240 volt single phase coming in the shop.

I was told by Sharp since the machine has a variable speed controler it can be wired single phase by wiring the 1st 2 legs and the ground??

If so my question is, having 240 volts coming in instead of 220 does anything else have to be changed?

Also going to a single phase 240 volts what size breaker will be needed?

Tag on machine>
Supply Voltage - 220
Phase - 3
FLA 16.8
Largest Motor 5hp

Hello,
Have you measured the power during different times of the day? It is most
likely not always at 240. My suggestion is to move wire S1 to the 230V or
240v terminal on the transformer depending on your measurements.

I would see what the VFD manual says about breaker size.
