I was wondering if there is a power usage meter that I can put inline with my subpanel out in the shop showing how much I am using per month. Would want to go with the single phase subpanel which also feeds the 3phase subpanel. Do they have them with a downloadable history/memory nowdays? That way I can nail down exactly how much electricity is being used in the shop. I'm not much on the technical terms on what exactly I would be searching for.
Thanks

The meter your power company has outside does that. You can record the readings or install another one on your subpanel to read only that usage. You should be able to find one on ebay or in a junk store.

Here, let me Google that for you:

Google: tenant power meter

First hit:
Residential Tenant Sub-Meters on PowerMeterStore.com

Many sub-$200 options present themselves.

Without reading, I would say non-contact (inductive) options should be available that would allow you to input KWH costs, perhaps even based on time-of-day, remember stuff for at least a month, and allow you to download all sorts of data for later analysis. Probably even ping it with your phone, perhaps with a companion app.

That's just a guess, though.
