Before I pull the trigger on purchasing a Leadshine DM805-AI stepper driver I need some information how to suit it for two different motors. It's the only one I could find with a 0 - 5 V analog input. It has the usual DIP switches for selecting motor amps, micro-stepping etc. They aint cheap for my budget meaning I can afford one to share among three different step motors and three different input modes.
I have multiple uses for this drive. I was wondering if leads could be brought from the DIP switches out to panel switches to change drive parameters. Just a few: 2.4 amps and 5.0 Amps are selected by the state of Sw 3 for example or 400 and 6400 steps per rev by Sw 7.The DIP switches would be set to "off" and the actual hi/low state selected by toggle panel switches.
WIll DIP switch lead length be affected by enclosure RFI?
The manual says you can't change DIP switch settings"on the fly." However, if my proposal holds water, I could change settings by external switches before starting and thereby drive my choice of mode and both a NEMA 34 long motor for the big indexer and NEMA 23 little guys on the Ellis dividing head and the rotary table.
Doable?
