I just bought a 10 cu ft Vibratory deburring machine with a 10 hp 30amp 3 phase motor, with breaker box, timer, and reversing switch. I found a number of reasonably priced VFD 7.5KW 220V 10HP 34A on ebay for around $300. However after reading about VFD's (I have never used one) I am concerned about using it with the breakers in the circuit.
Would using a VFD in this application be a problem. It would be the most economical way to convert my single phase power to 3 phase, but not if it would kill the VFD.
I use a idler set up as a rotary converter to power my mill, but the idler motor is only a 10 hp for my Bridgeport 2 hp motor, so it would not work for the 10 hp deburring machine.
Does anyone have any experience or advice for this set up?
