Hello,

Can anyone help me identify the leads from a GE motor? The name plate information is as follows:
GE
5KH25AC16A
1/12 HP
115V
1.6A
60 Cy
1 Ph
3450 RPM
Code T
SF 1.0
42 Frame
Cap GEJ213

It has four leads labeled T1, T2,T3,T4.

I assume two are for line and two are for a Capacitor. Would the capacitor spec be the GEJ213? And is it possible that number is still valid? Also, for this or any other motor is there a way to tell which leads go where using an ohmeter and would I damage the motor by connecting the capacitor to any two leads and line voltage to the other two?

Thanks,

Rick

How about some direction as to where I might get some help identifing these leads? I haven't got much help from the GE web site. You have to sign up and pay for information from them now.

Thanks

Rick

Viper,
Thanks for the reply and the wiring diagrams. Doing a Google search got me my own post here and fascinating scam information. It seems any inquiry can be included into a reply that uses the information that you posted and leads you to a porn site. But thanks anyway. It was inlightening. I guess I'll try a motor shop. I'll have to get the capacitor anyway.

Huh, did not mean to mislead if I did. I actually cataloged the linked page as it is useful info. The motor you are inquiring about should be a very simple connection and info on them should be all over the web. If you look at my post count, I am far from a scammer looking to post useless info..

Best of luck..

Viper, No problem. I'm sure you did nothing more than offer sound advice and thanks for that. I was only pointing out what scammers are doing with Google search.

Thanks again,

Rick
