Great write up! I was really glad to see this, it is exactly the set up I plan on doing on my Bridgeport J-Head Mill and on my 16" SBL very soon. Currently I have been running my BP off of a bank of capacitors I set up to generate a third leg of power. I Love the infinite speed control idea on both of my machines.

I do have one concern though, My 16" SBL is a 1943 Quick change 6' model with the original Westinghouse 1.5 Hp / 3ph motor, it does run smooth and quiet. with that being said I am wondering if there is any danger to running a 21st Century VFD phase converter (Teco JNEV-201-H1) on a 70 year old Motor?

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated,
    Joe

No problem at all. If it does die eventually, it is only a 20$ motor to replace.

Do you have a part number for this? I really like your setup and the additional 115V outlets after the disconnect.

EDIT: I just seen that your using the JNEV-101-H1 (115V single phase in), i'm using the JNEV-201-H1 (230V single phase in) is this disconnect rated for 230V? I'd look myself but I don't have a model number. Lowe's is right up the road so this would save me some time.

I am installing....programing my TECO JNEV-201-H1, I also have the remote keypad to go along with it. I have the drive its self running ok but I cant get the remote keypad to control anything. THe remote keypad has power and dashes on the display. I have tried several combos of programing in the "F" Menus to no avail.

Wondering if anyone around here has any experience with this drive and / or the setup / programing of the unit to get the remote keypad to control the unit?

    Thanks,
    Joe
