Default Phase converter to run plasma cutter

I have a dilemma here and was wondering if I could get some advice from everyone. The problem is that I have a large plasma cutter but I don't have a big enough phase converter to run it. My phase converter is a 15 horse which I think off the top of my head is about 50 amps???? The plasma cutter would use 125 amps 220 or 65 amps 440 volt. I was wondering if I could possibly build a 220 volt converter using an idler motor??? Also, I was wondering if anyone has ever built a phase converter that generated 440 volts, if it is possible or am I plain nuts?

Sounds like you need a transformer to go to 480v and cut the amps in half, then use a large idler for the converter @ 440/480.
