I am trying to get a #3 M2200 going to produce someparts.. from 3/4" barstock. The "push" type collet closer tube was badly stuck but moving free now. The ollet seems strong and centers well, wondering what would be a maximum length of .750 ....stock should be allowed to stick back in the push tube unsupported?
The bar feeder has a rotating type of two jaw chuck that close tightly on 3/4 " stock.

My main questions are Where.... How.... and from what material...... would be a starting point for the spindle stock supports....to keep things centered behind the collet....at speed.....and to be ushed on throughby the new piece in the barfeeder.
that I assume must be inserted somewhere in the collet pushtube to center and support the incoming barstock...mylar ? Actel ? ?????

I havent found anything in the manual or the Longstreet book on this

Thanks Dave Lawrence
