I got tired of sharpening my Lie-Nielsen miter plane blade so I finally got around to making my favorite type of blade. I TIG braze a piece of HSS on a steel plate, grind and hone to aprox. 25 degrees with a little "back bevel" (I think that's what it's called) and made 40 - 50 passes on a piece of white oak end grain and so far I'm happy. the real test will be over a month of real work.

To be honest all I know is that the piece says HSS.
And the back was flattened, the photo that looks like the back is the top before I did any grinding.
