Monarch CNC What is it ?

G of C has this listed for sale

Since it is government no additional info available, they list it as a lathe but looks very odd to me.

It is a prehistoric NC turret lathe, you will need a way to punch tapes to make it work. I worked at a shop in the late 70's that had one, it was old then and was not used much as it was always broken down. safe to say it will sell for scrap.

I remember one of these selling on ebay about 12 years ago ~$3000 (seems awfully high based on the control). If I remember correctly the seller had it working and it was in really nice shape.

Although it has a tape reader it appears to be early CNC to me, not NC. Absolutely worthless regardless.

Your probably right, CNC, worthless? Absolutly worthless. Not even enough there to make a good scrap run.
