The plug is removed by Boeing when it installs the seats. Boeing's problem. Not denying that. Some are saying the 3 failures of the air pressurization monitoring system should have been enough to cause the Alaska people from the pilots on down to look into the problem. The plane was doing an...
Mine is similar to all the above.
It has the T slots on the cross slide.
Maybe a factory QCGB. The lead screw is one section that goes through the QCGB. Not installed in this image.
The top cone pulleys are installed on a tower. A very short line shaft.
I have a "B&S No 6 Plain Screw Machine" from about 1920. In modern terms it is a capstan lathe. It has been simplified over the years. My goal is to restore it to its original functionality. Unfortunately I have not located another example in any condition. The only documentation is this...
Oldie but a goodie. I am facing just this issue on my Kubota BX. There is a rolled key broken off in the shaft that drives the front axle. Tried driving it with a pin punch and failed. Came looking for help and found this thread.
My early 90s craftsman drill press has 3 stepped pulleys. Spindle, idler, and motor. The center is an idler on a pivot arm and is slightly angled relative to the spindle. A friend noticed the same thing on his drill press.
Is this by design or bad manufacturing?
Thanks
I know thread is old. But wanted to add that I have a No6 Plain screw machine that looks a lot like the ones pictured. I don't know how easy it is to tell them apart without seeing the id.
Thanks for the fast reply. At this point I have not changed anything. When the wrench would not easily turn the anvils I posted here. Now where exactly does this guy screw apart ? On the anvil side of the knurl or the micrometer side. Neither budges with my bare hands.
My sweet wife scored a set of these for me at a garage sale. Found this on the web.
It tells you to use a combination of two rods in many cases. My question is how do you use two rods? The anvils on the rods have flats for a wrench but they do not easily unscrew. I don't want to mess them...
Thank you Andy for the identification and catalog link.
And thanks to everyone who replied.
I was hoping not to buy any tooling until I could find an affordable QCTP. But such is life.
Again thanks everyone.
I have done some wood turning and understand parting from that viewpoint.

I can't see how any flat blade in this tool holder will correct the vertical tilt. The tool will always rub the sides of the cut. I set a block next to the tool to illustrate this angle.
Maybe...
Armstrong 82R tool holder
I initially identified this as a parting tool but I'm not sure anymore. The holder angles the blade off the vertical. That would not cut very deep. I can't find any blade orientation that would make it vertical. If its not a parting tool what is it ?
I found an...
First Chips
Although none of the drive parts are attached I have first chips. Both for the lathe and me I should add. I used the tool that was in the lathe as it came to me. Not sharp.
Just prior to installation of the serpentine belt and chuck.
I have a question about one of the lathe...
