Is there a CAM for lathe that doesn't suck?
When we used CamWorks, the lathe portion wasn't too awful. In fact, it's better than hypermill's turning IMO. However, once you step in to mill/turn, the CamWorks implementation gets tedious. Digital Scanner for picking up 2D Profiles?
We used to use digitizers on old Mylar prints from Boeing. It's a calibrated tool for capturing points, then which you import the dxf into a CAD software and create geometry from. If you want more of a professional/industrial approach anyways...- BluishInventor

Very close to buying my first printer
Another +1 for Prusa printers. Had a Mk2 with MMU, but sold that and now have a MK3. Only had one issue with the mk3(bought used) and had to repace the heating element/sensor for the nozzle as I had a runaway at one point. But other than that, they are great for the money.- BluishInventor

First bit of advice, don't get 4k screens in a laptop. Completely unnecessary. Stick with 1080 or 1440. Only go with 1440 on a 17". Workstation laptops with quaddro cards are the way to go. Thread Revival #3 Has anyone found a better insert yet for turning pure copper? So, that one doesn't need to use Milk? lol. I need to obtain an Ra of 32.
