    Cutter comp problem on lathe

Check that you're using the correct tool nose comp. If it works roughing, but not finishing, then your tool path is probably ok. Tool comp is not picked up on the roughing, even though it's in there. That's just the nature of Fanuc controls. Or at least the older ones.

I need some opinions on a used Miyano

Out of curiosity, how was this machine? Turn out to be a good buy, or nightmare?

    Gripping Smaller Stock

Help me out here. What would the size of the order have to do with ease of holding small diameter work?

    Gripping Smaller Stock

First thing that comes to mind is a collet chuck. I have a nice 16C collet chuck that will grip up to 1.625 diameter. After that, I have to go to the chuck. You can swap back and forth within about 5 minutes.

Haas SL10 parts catcher not working

I tend to be gentle to my machines and don't ask them to do anything they're not designed to do. I don't have a bar feeder, although, I do use a bar puller once in a while. But, that's about 3-6 times per year. Parts catcher gets used often, but nothing I would call abusive.

Haas SL10 parts catcher not working

Good idea. Not sure why that escaped me. I did check the connections on the solenoid, and the connection to the cylinder, but none of the others. I'm still curious though, is it possible for that selenoid to get lazy, and not open all the way?

Haas SL10 parts catcher not working

2002 parts catcher, not working. It's been getting kinda "lazy" but always operated, until now. I replaced the hardware just under the cylinder that pops up the catcher, thinking it was clogged. But still not working. That hardware has about a.005 diameter hole in it for the air to go...

Need help identifying and locating information on a Moog MHP CNC machine

No, it's not really normal for a pic to take 24 hours before it uploads, unless you have a really slow upload speed. I wish you luck on this machine. The machines are a really great idea, but not a good reputation. It would be fun to play with though.

Haas SL10, leaking near chip auger motor?

That's ok. It is what it is I guess. LOL

Haas SL10, leaking near chip auger motor?

wow, 91 views, and no one has ever done this before? Has anyone ever even had to change the chip auger motor on these things?

Haas SL10, leaking near chip auger motor?

I have a 2002 SL10 that is leaking coolant out of the bottom of the machine. I can see the drip simply by standing back and looking underneath it. It appears to be dripping, right about even with back wall inside the lathe, where the chuck is. I'm not sure where it's coming from, but I'm...

Need help identifying and locating information on a Moog MHP CNC machine

Curious how this turned out. I also ran a Moog Hydropoint, but it was a hydraulic type with a tape reader. Didn't have a computer on it, just a big reader for reading the tapes. You could also write up your own programs and punch the tape right at the control, but it wasn't handy by any...

Need help zero returning the turret on hardinge conquest 42

This is ringing a bell with what my service guy did for me.

Need help zero returning the turret on hardinge conquest 42

I did, but I had to call a service guy in to do it. He explained what he did but this was so long ago, I don't have a clue what it was anymore. I have since sold this machine.

Quoting new jobs that appear risky

Well, yes, of course. I just gave an exaggerated example to emphasize my point.
