    The bore and stroke of the Chevrolet crank is the same as the T 3 3/4”B - 4.00 “?stroke. The difference is the size of the crank . The Model T weighs in at 16 lbs while the Chevy crank is 25 lbs. The model T engine was notorious for breaking crankshafts. Neither of these cranks are counter balanced

    Thanks guys, all good advice, this engine is not going see any high rpm’s. With the stock T gearing 50 mph is only 2000 rpm,….fast enough for me !

    Milland, I know the chev rods are 7.440” in length which is .437” longer than the T rod, pin dia on the Chevy is .85” the T is .75” dia. Sorry but I do not have a Chevy piston on hand to measure the distance from the pin to the piston top

    Ross , Are you suggesting the taper with the flange be machined from a solid piece, with the taper being longer that the flange ( on the examples I have seen the flange is .750" wide) if I understand correctly the taper could become part of the crankshaft bearing surface. (Say 2 -3" overall)...

    Thanks Ross, I do not have the Chevy crank at the shop quite yet, will post a picture or two likely next week. Due to the lack of room available, the maximum width of the flange can only be about 3/4", even this means having to shorten the rear main bearing (babbit) in the block by 1/2" Dave
