in my experience, the best way to learn is just to do it.. and SINGLE BLOCK and set your rapid as slow as it will go lol. read the manuals, all the canned cycles require various G codes in preparation for them, as well as the variables themselves. i downloaded the 'job shop lite' app, its got...- DBcooper

1998 fadal 3016 program loading
Haha fair enough! I appreciate it, fadals seem to be cheap iron that just work.. that's kinda what I'm looking for, but fusion programs can get pretty lengthy, so it may not be the move... We'll see how bad they wanna give the thing away! -

I'm looking at a 98 fadal, with I believe the 88 (?) control, I'm not very familiar with fadals, but frankly they're a dime a dozen. I'm wondering if you can load a cam program to run on it, and of so, will it process the lines of code for a 2D adaptive toolpath smoothly? What red flags should I... -

Looking for a good postprocessor
I've got a '99 Daewoo Puma 230 MSC dual spindle, live tool lathe with a fanuc series 18-m control, and I'm looking for a post that will handle both live tooling and subspindle work, can anyone point me in the right direction?- DBcooper

fusion rotary problems
Yeah, it's looking like its an issue in the post. So now I'm in the market for a post for a 25 year old Daewoo dual spindle mill-turn with a fanuc control... So I'm not asking for much lol -

The post is for a newer fanuc control than I have, but like I said, it didn't have a problem going over 360 degrees with a 2d adaptive toolpath when axial milling. Post was given to me by someone at Autodesk -

using the rotary function on fusion, im trying to profile a feature like a cam lobe on a shaft in my daewoo lathe with live tooling. the machine makes a good pass, but it has to unwind after each revolution, and if the start point is not at the high point of the profile the endmill just wipes... -

Power supply issues?
It's an 18T but I ended up finding a circuit with a short somewhere. It's the sub spindle unclamp confirm. It will run the warm-up program without power to that circuit but the turret acts weird on tool changes and it doesn't recognize where it's at when indexing, so I need to track down that...- DBcooper

Power supply issues?
That makes sense, the part I forgot to add is that each time it's happened, it has been at a low power demand part of the program, a sustained 1000 rpm, virtually no spindle load, no acceleration or deceleration. Pardon my ignorance on electrical issues lol- DBcooper
