    When does NET30 start?

Are you using the terms of the Net30? Additional interest charge for them paying late, discount for paying early?

I have a 2023 DNM5700. Is the coolant/chip management really supposed to be this terrible?

Per what I've been told when asking about conveyors, you have the wrong conveyor for that type of chip.

    Shrinking ID.

If that is the only feature that's changing spec, is your tool moving in the turret?

I have a 2023 DNM5700. Is the coolant/chip management really supposed to be this terrible?

Dang dude, we went from "I don't know what I'm doing and these chip thingies are weird" to "but check out this sick turbskie I made for funsies" in a couple of paragraphs. That's friggin rad. I don't know your machine, but chip management is a plague that few machines answer really well. Do you...

    Economical low cost broaching Solution

Have you considered milling a piece of HSS to shape and broaching it with your spindle after you use the high-feed? Or sticking a tiny grinding wheel in your machine spindle and grinding your own broach? Only 150 pcs in 4140, might be worth it for such a short run?

Where can I rent a pickup that allows more than 10000# trailer towing?

I just looked at our local states, but it was easy enough to find for them. They also all had a "do I need a CDL" flowchart that helped, but the actual statement of the law was on the Class C license info. If you go looking specifically in the commercial law it's not as clear because there is a...

Where can I rent a pickup that allows more than 10000# trailer towing?

It may now be irrelevant to this particular move but out of curiosity/necessity I looked up the legality of towing over 10k in Oregon, Idaho and Utah. All three make the same statement and use a similar flowchart. All three states DO PERMIT you to tow over 10k, so long as your Gross Combined...

Where can I rent a pickup that allows more than 10000# trailer towing?

Can you have a rental forklift delivered for the job? My local rigger recommended I call Leavitt and have them drop a big pneumatic tire lift at my place if I wanted to DIY the last job I asked them about, and it seemed like a very economical option. Have you considered just asking a rigger how...

Where can I rent a pickup that allows more than 10000# trailer towing?

Do you have access to two sections of steel plate you can trade off between as decking over the gravel, to leapfrog your way? "You know, like the Egyptians."

I guess its time for me to start my own Home shop thread.

After a literal roof over the machinery and a floor to put them on, electricity is the most important factor in any shop. Are my points invalid? Is it really worth spending tens of thousands of dollars to provide a very questionable 'money-saving solution' that's going to have a useful life of...

Establishing a supply chain for your product + finance/accounting questions.

Yeah feel free to reach out any time, happy to help within the bounds that I can. Frankly I know that we're talking about wire EDM's here, but this sounds like it might be a bar fed lathe part to me, ideally. Done-in-one machining, to spec, of a part that was able to be run on a knee mill? Bar...

Establishing a supply chain for your product + finance/accounting questions.

I think you should consider NDA'ing someone knowledgeable and showing them what you're doing and ask them for advice. I was the laser supervisor for the largest stainless consumer in California. What issues were you having with the laser cutting? Edge quality? Tolerance? Oxidation...

Establishing a supply chain for your product + finance/accounting questions.

Can you run a big facemill for such a shallow cut? How about vacuum fixturing so the part doesn't bow in the vice, if that's an issue? What machine are you milling these with? It sounds like the unique material finish/dimension and/or the blanchard grinding is the hangup, so I'd do everything I...

I guess its time for me to start my own Home shop thread.

Are you willing to deal with the massive fire danger of lithium batteries if one ever has a breach? Tree limb falls through roof, wind storm knocks something over, you're moving something and drop it on a battery, or failure for whatever other reason? What is your backup plan when the first...

Transition from low volume to production

We used Equipment Finance Agreements, which are technically different from both a loan and a lease. I think EFA's are great. The machine is the collateral (no house/car liability), you can pay it off early and reduce the interest total, and there's no prepayment penalty. At least for the ones...
