I’m curious if this is the correct approach as the bearing outer race is pressed into the hub but the inner race is a slip fit on the spindle. Don’t bearings like this wear out faster or overheat if both inner and outer races are fixed in place? -

Methods to broach a tapered hub.
Unclear: That taper will have to be turned not broached. Or do you mean to broach a keyway into the female taper? BilL D yes, I was unclear. The taper not the issue, I was referring to the keyway. Mud, thank you for the picture, gives me ideas.
