Hi all
Been running a Hardinge Quest 8/51 with Fanuc 16i-T for about 4 years now - Always battled with the amount of internal memory.
The reseller I got it from certainly got some parameters wrong and I've corrected those as I went, within my ability.
After googling quite a bit, it strikes...
100% working on original hardware, upgraded PC. Viewing welcome, based in Havant. Currently up on eBay. Some soft tooling included.

Hi all
We're about to acquire a Renishaw SLM 125, but Renishaw themselves will not support it at all.
I need to try and get hold of the software (I believe it's QuantAM?) and some printing parameters for it. It should be in good working condition and knowing Renishaw I'm hoping the spares are...
Thanks, this seems to be working for me too! I'll try to find another e stop button.
I changed the battery with the control off as per the maintenance manual.
Thanks!
Hi all
I have a Hardinge Quest 8/51. I changed the APC batteries about a month ago with no issues, and today I changed the control battery as I had a low battery alarm.
After changing the battery though I can no longer release the E-Stop as part of the usual procedure.
Usual procedure is...
Thanks guys, I've tried all the M codes that refer to the main spindle with the decimal places, no luck there. I don't seem to have a B button on my control panel, but yes, for this program I just need the index rather than an actual C axis function. I will need the C axis in future though...
Hi all,
Machine is a Hardinge Quest 8/51 XYZCC lathe with Fanuc 16i-T.
I'm trying to manually write a program to do some simple X/Y milling with driven tooling however I'm struggling to get the C axis to do anything at all in MDI mode.
Simple command, I want to do G00 C180. I keep getting...
I think you're right, I need the Y axis capability. Is there anything I should know about the Hardinge? I'm struggling to find a Fanuc 16i post for Fusion 360.
Hi all
Need some help choosing a machine from a shortlist of 3 please! Consider me a complete amateur to these machines, I'm moving on from an Emco PC Turn 120... This will be my first machine with a sub spindle and live tooling, I use Fusion 360 for post and I'm happy I can program for a sub...
The machine won't be marking full time - maybe a day or so a week. Our production work is all small batches.
We've wasted considerable money recently subbing out laser work (as we normally do) only to find there was a mistake or a clash. Being able to make a single part in house before...
Hi all
Please don't flame me for this! We are a small rapid prototyping shop with little space and small budgets.
We're desperate for a fibre laser marker. I've found a Chinese company I like who has been giving solid advice and seem the most likely to provide after sales support. Please don't...
I couldn't find any finished tube, that was my first and favourite option.
Thanks for the offer Sable, but I would like to find someone local. It's Nylon (which I know can be happily centreless ground), I can probably better describe the tolerance as 6.95 +/-0.05mm but realistically anywhere...
Thanks
I did have a google and sent out some RFQs by email and got a quote by phone. I thought the forum would be a good place to post too. The only outfits that could give me a quote so far were big commercial companies - and I feel their quotes reflected that.
