Great, I found the ATF link very helpful. But i am still wondering how exactly this law affects guns built as a gift for a friend or relative (chopping hairs i know, but I am just doing the CYA) OR if you built the gun and five years later decided to get rid of it. Then could you sell it as you...
I am interested in getting started with gunsmithing. And I was wondering what was required both legally and tooling wise. I am trying to find information on the ATF site about the licenses required in the USA, but I would also like to hear from people who have had first hand experience dealing...
I heard one trick of laying down 30-second, two part epoxy. Lay the epoxy and the hardener next to each other in strips on the floor. Ratty takes a walk and suddenly is stuck within a few inches of the epoxy.
NOW get the shotgun. ;)

If a rat blows up from coke in the woods, and...

Interesting. I have thought about the electronic and electrical appraoch, but I am ksteering my designs more towards purely mechanical devices.
One: So that th unit can be used in an area with out power.
Two: Mainly for the design thrill.
I am also trying to include in the design the ability...
I just chased a nine inch rat out of my shop this weekend and am now on the warpath.
I am in the process of building a "better mouse-trap", and was curious if any one else has used the skills of a machinist in this pursuit to free your homes and shops of such critters.
My current design will...
Actually, I do have a design I am working on for a square that uses a known frequency to calculate the distance between the top and bottom of each edge of the square by dividing the wavelenghts difference from point to point. The square itself would not have to be acurate, just the initial...

Check it out! I was given a copy of volume 3 by a friend. I loved it! Especially the motorized shopping cart that goes 60mph.
Also a good recipe for biodisel. (but check the msds on sodium methoxide)

Thanks! I was thinking either a sherline or a taig. And I think I will go with the taig. It seems to have all the versatility and accuracy I want. I checked out the info on carters'. Very cool.

PS- Don't tell the police I was here. :D

Howdy, y'all!
I am thinking about picking up this lathe with the milling table and collet attachments. But before I do I was hoping to get any comments from people who have used or owned one of these.
I would mainly be doing odd hobbyist work and sticking...
Maybe the skeptics who have not tried it, should. If not just to support their argument with more data.
The same should be said for those of us who can dowse. I do intend to perform some blind experiments myself just to test some of the points brought up by others. I am intrigued (sp) by the...
The local shop was not much help. Does any soul here know the way to TIG and Oxy-Acetylene weld copper? I have sheet that is 0.01" thick and of a fairly high purity. I would rather not braze or solder it (mostly for appearance).
