    Tilting Mill Vise

Is it a one time operation, will you be making the part constantly. You are probably better off with a precision (grinding) vise and an adjustable sine plate, or compound sine plate. If you do not trash it, you can sell the sine plate and vise for close to what you paid for two pieces. You will...

    Hoist or Overhead Lift

The Skyhook is nice but not quite tall enough. Want to inspect the slides, gears, and related parts. Also do some cleaning, there just seems like a lot of swarf. Did see picture of a guy using a strap wrapped around the head an picking up the head with an overhead hoist. Anyone moly coat the...

    Hoist or Overhead Lift

Living in newer home looking at my trusses are held together with nail plates. My concern is that if I put an overhead hoist to remove the heads or swap the worktables on my FP3, That the weight will pull apart the trusses. The area above the mill has already been sheet rock by the builder. I...

    Grinding Sliding Bearing Holder

Trying to come up with a faster way of making this sliding bearing holder. It fits into a hard anodized 6061 body, and moves around.080” in and out of the aluminum body. It houses a spherical teflon bearing which needs .0005” preload. If there is any play between the sliding bearing holder and...

    Subtool 5C Collets Sets

It probably been discussed somewhere on the net, however I would like someone on PM that has used SubTools 5C collets. Once or twice a year I buy a couple of replacement 5C collets for my HLV-H lathe, when they are on sale. The posted specs are pretty much the same, but what the quality like...

How to deburr this? I dont know how to get at the inside edge. I have tried using the squiggly deburring tool but that does not do a very good job.

They have all kinds of router bits and small hand held routers. Once you set the height wanted you should be able to do tops and sides. Then just use a hand file that has teeth on the edges and grind the width of the file to fit. Touch up bottom corners with a round file or burr bit. Seen guys...

Where can I rent a pickup that allows more than 10000# trailer towing?

Moving your own machinery one thing to watch besides licensing regulations is axle weights. Being over can become expensive and cause delays in your plans. Make sure to check axle weight’s on a certified scale.

O/T- engine guys, help me understand this leaking gasket.

How is the engine vented? Do you have any thing that resembles a PCV valve? You can also get sealing washers. At MB the factory used small copper crush washers, between the bolt head and valve covers. Before you start putting any sealant on anything, clean all all the bolt holes, use your...
