Wouldn't you be better off with a lathe ? Seems you have more lathe work and you already have a mill ? Great story, Great attitude ! Good luck ! Bob

OT - killing woodworn in fresh sawn white oak for trailer boards.

Thermite, That's one of the least affected boards, just to illustrate the holes.

OT - killing woodworn in fresh sawn white oak for trailer boards.

For those that want to see the holes. I caught the blade on one of the "dogs", but finish good enough for what I needed. Bob

OT - killing woodworn in fresh sawn white oak for trailer boards.

Wow, another 18 posts even though the mods have tried to hide me in the woodwork section !! Really appreciate all the ideas guys. The boards are 18' long, so building a kiln won't be simple. Yes it is just a trailer. The reason I went with the white oak is that it's strong, rot resistant and I...

OT - killing woodworn in fresh sawn white oak for trailer boards.

Wow, 18 responses in 4 hours. Thanks guys ! I read about Borax, but mixed reviews. Don't know of a kiln around here. I remember my father-in-law, back in UK used to apply kerosene on old furniture he bought that had worms in it. Used to be cheaper than gasoline ! I'll post a pic tomorrow, not...

OT - killing woodworn in fresh sawn white oak for trailer boards.

Well my title kinda says it. When I got the logs I didn't realize how bad the worms were. So I need to spray something on the boards to kill the darned things. I read somewhere that "permethrin" is recommended, then a supplier said its no go for what I need. Does anyone have any experience or...

VFD for Cincinnati lathe with 3HP. Motor data plate pic attached.

There will be wires from the drum switch back to the control panel, and probably to the contactor coils. There's probably a connector block where all these wires come together. Find the 3 wires from your drum switch; disconnect (from the connector block), and label them; then connect new wires...

VFD for Cincinnati lathe with 3HP. Motor data plate pic attached.

Jenius, This VFD is rated at 9 amps or so on Single phase supply and 19 amps on 3 phase, as I indicated in my response. Have confidence, my friend, its very straight forward. and its only $268, in stock. I'm not sure, but I believe many VFD's have a built in braking resistor. But there's a...

VFD for Cincinnati lathe with 3HP. Motor data plate pic attached.

I would use this one: Only $268 !! Excellent support from both Marshall-Wolf and Fuji. Single phase supply rating of 9.7 amps. (19 amps with 3 phase supply). Have confidence. Very easy to install. Wire your drum switch back to "FWD/CM/REV" terminals to control the VFD from your exiting...

Drinking from the VFD info firehose

Thinking about it, I've wired VFD's two ways 1) with a "maintained" switch that can be either on or off. So when on, there is a small voltage from the VFD to switch, then back to VFD. When switch is turned off, the circuit is broken and the VFD stops. 2) the other way is 2 momentary switches...
