When sleeving something like a break component and using green locktite to secure and seal the fit, is it a slip fit or a light interference (pressed) fit? If it is a slip fit what should the clearance be?
Rob, I have a .pdf spec sheet for that oil. It was to big to attach. The information you would need would be the viscosity grade which is ISO 10. Hope that helps.
I have an eight inch D1-5 back plate that came with my lathe. It is a back plate for a set true or similar type of chuck. I think it might be for a Buck or Bison. From the pictures can anyone tell me what brand chuck it goes too?
I thought they would be good to have if I ran into some drive screw repairs on some machine tools. I looked closer at them this morning. There were about 40 of them. Some duplicats, ¾ to 1 ½, standard pitch sizes and some odd ones, 2E, RH, LH, most appeared to be 29 deg, one marked 10 deg...
Picked up a bunch of these. They appear to be adjustable like some reamers. I am guessing they can be sharpened and then adjusted for proper diameter. Don’t see a manufacture name on any of them. Has anyone seen these before or no who makes them.
On the wheel size. This one is belt driven. The motor is a two pole and the pulley ratio comes out to about 2020 rpms. I new the pulleys were not the same size however I had not calculated the speed yet. Thanks for the input on the GPM.
I recently purchased a Boyar Schultz H618 heavy duty surface grinder. It has mist coolant and I thought that would satisfy me until I could find a grinder with flood coolant. That is ultimately what I want. Turns out it has the drain in the table for flood coolant. When I was going through...
Sorry the spindle assembly is spoken for locally. Barry, PM me with your email address and I will send you the the parts diagrams so you can identify the parts you want by page and part number. I am not familiar with rollers under the cross feed table. I haven’t had it off before. So...
I have a 1929 B&S No 2 with an antifriction (roller) bearing spindle that I am parting out to help pay for another new to me surface grinder. The motor is bad and the mag chuck shown in the picture is going on my other surface grinder. Wanted to see if there is any interest in parts from it.
Thanks Cody, I was expecting a knob like the crossfeed. What serial number is yours. Sorry Modelman I had ment to direct that question in post #6 to Cody and copied the wrong name.
The one Brian provided the link to (thanks by the way Brian) stated HYDRAULIC POWERED LONG. TABLE SPEED .... 0 TO 50' FPM and AUTOMATIC CROSS FEED INCREMENT PER TABLE PASS.... 0 TO 5/32". Modelman can you adjusted the speed on yours? How is it done? I have a knob to turn to adjust the cross...
OK, it looks like I have a rear and valuable Boyar Schultz surface grinder. Well maybe just rear. From the lack of response, it doesn’t look like anyone else has seen this model. The S/N is H-876. When did Boyar Schultz stop making grinders? Who sell parts for them?
Just picked up this surface grinder and need help identifying the model so I can get a manual. Searching the internet, all I see are the Boyar Schultz Challenger and Deluxe models. I have not seen one picture that looks like this style. Is this newer or older then the Challenger model or was...
Thanks for sending me back to Vintage Machinery. I have been there before and found manuals for other equipment. They are an excellent source. The last time I looked for info on this 202 was several years ago. I still wish I could find a manual. I have found information on other T&C...
Completed Tool & Cutter Grinder
I was looking back at my old postings and realized I had not followed up and shown the finished project. As I got into the tear down I found this machine had basically no ware. It cleaned up nicely and was painted with two part epoxy. Found out this is the...
