You'd be far better off modifying the post processor to suit. I use Fusion 360 and they publish quite a lot of information regarding modifying their posts. It's pretty daunting at first but now I've done a few I'm more than happy to dive in and make adjustments as I see fit. I imagine the...
I've just picked one of these saws up at auction - everything appears to work as it should but there are a few bits either missing or in need of replacement. Would anyone happen to have a copy of a manual and / or parts list for one of these machines?
I was recently quoted for some DTNHH3/32's from a UK supplier - they were more expensive (admittedly not by much) and on a longer lead than ordering from AB Tools in the US. Personally I'd just go down the US route for convenience assuming they're off the shelf.
If the above is the cutter...
I've 3D printed a few and compared to the HAAS supplied ones I'd say they're more robust and fit the bar much better therefore I get less vibration on the machine. I've not run them as much as the HAAS ones but will do going forwards.
For anyone interested, on a 2.5" spindle bore down to...
It's frustrating when customers don't pay on time. I have a few good ones that pay on time but most pay 15-20 days late. I just keep an eye on the running total for that customer. If they have more outstanding than I'm comfortable with they get a reminder and if it's still not paid I'll speak...
I've been advised in the past to spot with a short series holder using the same inserts. Seems to work well for me although I'll get the odd one where the hole has wandered presumably due to chip packing throwing things off slightly. That being said I wouldn't be expecting a drill to achieve...
Thanks,
I did ask about replacing those while I was at it but the HURCO techs said it's a newish machine (2018 with around 2000 spindle hours) and they very rarely need replacing.
Thanks for the reply.
I have checked drawbar force and it is low (range is 7-9 KN according to HURCO, mine's reading 6 KN). Company I've received quotes from will do a full rebuild including replacement bearings etc (although due to time restraints I'm going to do the spring washers and hope...
I'm curious, once the spindle is rebuilt is it a case of slapping it back in or do they require shimming etc to get them in alignment?
Only reason I ask is I may have to go through this soon - got some fretting on my VM10i. Going to change the spring washers to see if that helps - I've blued...
I paid someone when I first started out a few thousand to develop a Wordpress / WooCommerce site. It was OK I guess. Anyway, after I paid them for lifetime hosting they magically disappeared and 6 months later the hosting platform they used expired meaning my website went down (turns out they...
The chap I generally deal with is usually pretty good. Run of the mill 6082, 316 etc I can usually get from them at a reasonable price next day most of the time.
NYC CNC does a good video on Youtube about Higbee start threads on the lathe specifically for fusion but the principle would likely be the same for other CAM packages.
The basic idea is you offset your Z starting position by the PDX value on your threading insert (check your threading insert...
Yea, I've been quoted +/- .1 mm before but most state +/-.25 mm. Even then I've noticed because of where the cut is started usually has a little pip if you need clearance for say a bolt then it can sometimes require a bit of rework to get it running right.
I've seen a few of my customers put...
This kind of mishap is unfortunately not limited to the two suppliers I'd mentioned - they were just the ones I was dealing with at the time. As such I'm not going to name anyone publicly but if you're desperate to know then drop me a PM.
I agree though, they shouldn't be substituting...
Depending on your accounting software you may be able to accept card payments already. I use Quickbooks and it integrates with PayPal so when I send an invoice from Quickbooks there's a box I can check to accept card payments. The client gets an email with the invoice attached and clicks the...
