Yeah,
I agree, after looking at it, it does seem like a strange question.
I'm in need of a CNC mill and was hoping that I could kill two birds within one stone and find a Deckel that fit my requirements.
I certainly wasn't trying to imply that Deckels and Haas were even in the same game, let...
Silent_Man,
What CAM package do you use for the Constant cutter engagement paths? I know about Surfcam, is it still considered decent? Is there something out there that can calculate 3d paths yet?
Hdpg - Thanks! Several people have told me that a used VF1 is about the same price as a TM1, so I'd rather have more machine if I can manage it. If the power draw on the older VF1s is is 50 amp I'm good! As long as I have the space, there's nothing wrong with overkill! :)
knottier - That's...
Hdpg - Thank you, thats what I suspected. Do you know what the minimum electric service is required to power a vf1 is? It's got a 30hp motor, the Haas rep said 80amp 3phase, which I doubt I can get.
Silent_Man - Thank you. Great insights! Yes, the tools will be pretty small. I know the low...
Hi Silent_man,
I posted this because I'm pretty sure that the TM1 will handle my needs, aside from the 20pc ATC, but I'm a little worried about the lack of rigidity comments. I'd like to be able to consistently hold .0005, assuming I do everything else right like account for tool wear...
Wow!
Just looked up the Kitamura Mycenter-3XiF which seems to be a base machine equivalent to the Haas and man does it kick butt! Don't know what it costs yet, but it looks nice!
Thank you!
Pantera,
Thank you!
That's exactly the type of information that I was looking for. Kitamura sounds great. I don't need conversational, I'm pretty well versed in processing languages and much prefer mechanical functionality over ease of use.
Do you have a specific Kitamura model in mind?
Hey...
Like the title says, I am looking for recommendations for a 3d printing service that is capable of producing low volume and one off, high quality finish, high resolution parts from cad files submitted to them.
Thank you,
Steve
Abeship,
After thinking about it, I realize why you assume the other posts were looking for a mill for sale…. The title does kind of sound like it.
In retrospect, I would rename my posts to make it clearer that I'm looking for advice instead of for sale.
I'm really just looking for model...
Abeship,
Thank you for your reply.
If you read closer, none of those are actually purchase posts… The one in this forum is asking for a comparison of the rigidity between various Haas models.
I'm not actually ready to purchase a machine, I'm trying to research the best machine that fits my...
Hello,
I've been looking at getting a TM1 or TM2 for a small startup business that I am building. However, I've had several suggestions that I should be looking at getting a used VF1 for what I'm willing to spend. Obviously, the VF1 is a MUCH better tool, however the specs say that it has a 30HP...
I'm looking at purchasing a Haas TM1 or TM2.
I've heard that they are not very rigid, does anyone have a comparison to a common manual mill, such as a Bridgeport or Tree or...?
How do the minimills compare to the toolroom mill?
How does the vf1 compare to the toolroom mill?
Thank you for your...
Hello Deckel fans!
I am looking for equivalently priced and featured alternatives to the Haas TM1p.
I like the Haas, except I would prefer better rigidity, a higher speed spindle and 20 piece tool changer.
I can spend about 25k on a used machine, however I am looking for a well supported low...
