Little over priced or have I disconnected on 10EE value?

"Except for the missing lower cover." Dang, you're right. I guess I thought they had just removed it for inspection. That's a big issue.

Little over priced or have I disconnected on 10EE value?

"Rode hard and put up wet" as my mother would say. But it looks complete and undamaged from the pics. Might make a good project if the price was right.

    10EE C16J tubes

Just a thought. When you applied power, did the CJ16's light up at all? If it is like the WIAD, you turn on the power, the tube heater elements come on. nice orange glow. Then when you push the lighted green button, you should hear a click/lock, and the tubes inside should light up a pretty...

Testing oxygen and other high pressure cylinders.

Tried to post a link but didn't work. You can see it on YouTube. Welding Supply in Dallas going up 2007. Pretty impressive, I remember this.

    10ee for $1,400 in California

Unless I am missing something, it is not a Inch/metric. I think you are looking at the large Micro-Gaging cross feed dial ( a nice accessory), which looks like the Inch/metric one.

    10EE C16J tubes

Unless you're like me and just like the tubes for the "cool" factor, switching to Scissio is really the way to go. I have a set of the Scissio units for backup, but still run the tubes for fun. One thing though, my tubes (maybe not everyone else's) require a good 15mins or so to get fully...

    Old Autocollimator Parts

Ha, I couldn't imagine what Zeiss would charge for a single one off, if they would even do it, now maybe for 1000 pcs. they might talk to you. Actually, I don't know if this is correct, but I think...think that most of their production glass (and just about everybody else's) is now made in China.

    Old Autocollimator Parts

Of course, you could just run down to Oberkochen, and let Zeiss make up you a replacement. I'm sure they would be glad to help. :).

    Old Autocollimator Parts

Would it be possible to grind down the new larger objective to fit? I wonder if an eyeglass optical shop could do that?

    Tail stock lock lever question

Same here, push away to lock. My Hwacheon (Mori Seiki) is the same.

Retrieving items dropped in chip pan

Here is something I got the idea from some of our overseas friends. Does work quite well keeping stuff from falling into the pan. Easy on, easy off. It's sized for most of the collet chucks, etc that I use.

Retrieving items dropped in chip pan

I don't have a pic, but I found a large (like 24" long) pair of medical forceps that work great for this kinda stuff. Also good for getting parts that roll under the bench. I have also used the locking feature to roll up a wad to swab out a tube. Very handy.

OT What's up with all these phone calls from odd ball callers

I used to get car warranty calls many times a day. Now not so much. Usually what happens now if I do answer, there is a pause (this is the tipoff to hang up), then the robot says, "Hello? Hello? and if I reply, it goes into its spiel. I think anytime you buy something online and they require a...

    EE Apron thrust Bearings.

Ok, I figure this out. If you go to "Open link in new tab" you can down load it. ...I think. Cal, maybe you can clean this up and put it in a sticky?? If this info is not already available.

    EE Apron thrust Bearings.

Here is a rough sketch of some bearings/numbers that I sent to Bob at General Bearings probably 20yrs ago. I was going thru my files, and I didn't know if this would be handy or even relevant now. The first two 1) &2) might not be for the Monarch(maybe Tree mill) I just don't remember.

    City permit woes

If I had the talent or energy to do all the work myself, I would've sure gone that route, and never involved the city, in any form or fashion. But I got a respected contractor who plays by the rules, and this is the way I have to play.

    City permit woes

When we were trying to figure a way to permit a 200amp panel upgrade, (which should not be a big deal) I asked my contractor, " what if I told them I might want to build alittle home woodshop in the back? " He turned white, and said, " DO NOT mention "WOOD SHOP" ever !!!! That opens a huge can...

10EE Taper Attachment restoration and some questions about different styles.

If everything fits up, why not? You may have to make a new crosslide leadscrew bar, not a huge job, but that is just a hunch.

    Tree 2UVR-C Questions

As far as your mounting is concerned, I have mine sitting on 4 -Royal 4 1/2" dia. isolastic machine mounts, and those are sitting on 7"x7" x4" Tall paving blocks from Home Depot, as I like the machine a bit taller than whence it came. Been setup like this for 20+ years and rock steady.

    City permit woes

There was some speculation between me and the contractor about that. One, was that I was going to run a business in there and needed the power. I told them I wanted nothing to do with having a business( TRUE!!) or anything to do with that. Two, that I might be going to put in an inside...
