Additional question: How are you able to tell when you lose a panel? Are you running strings, micro-inverters, optimizers? I assume if you're running strings and a panel goes down then the whole string goes down?- aarongough

The panels are 17.3 sq feet each, so 110 of them = 1,903 sq feet, plus extra to allow for a little space between the panels for mounting and so on. Fadal Under enclosure storage
Yeah I've had solid color floors in a few shops and always ended up hating them. Any tiny patch of damage or a scrape or something sticks out like a sore thumb. I definitely plan on doing a heavy flake like in OP's photos. Besides I NEVER drop small parts so it won't be a problem. 🤣- aarongough

One other thing I was thinking that might contribute to longevity in this application: might be a good idea to run it for an extended period of time once a month or so, like I accidentally do when sandblasting! I have relatively low air demand most of the time, and the compressor only runs about 3-4 times per hour when I'm running my mills. Tolerance settings for surface finishing in Fusion 360??
Hey all! For the longest time I thought that my 'old' Fadals simply weren't capable of creating really high quality surface finishes, I would always get small inconsistencies in between passes when doing a finishing toolpath, and that would leave divots and so on that I'd have to hand finish...- aarongough

Hell just from McMaster you can order rod stock in Birch, Maple and Oak: McMaster-Carr McMaster-Carr McMaster-Carr I'm sure you'd be able to find a source for other lumber in the same form-factor, or rig up a system for turning square...- aarongough
