    Leblond Servo Shifting Issue

    Leblond Servo Shift question. When shifting, I spin the shift knob while in neutral, apply the brake, spindle oscillates, gears shift, but the spindle speed is not consistent. That is, I may request 300 rpm, I get 300 rpm. I move to 600 rpm, I get 150 rpm, etc. Any thoughts? Thanks! Jeff

    I am not sure I understand the question completely, but my plan is to stick the stock material in a chuck a drill/bore/thread the hole. I'll thread the rough plate onto the spindle for the remaining turning work. That said, a disc should work just fine. Thanks! Jeff

    I sincerely appreciate the input. I made a thread gauge and machined a face plate a few years ago. The threads aren’t tapered. I’m just looking for a suitable material at a reasonable price.

    I would like to purchase a 10” diameter steel round bar to machine into a lathe back plate for a chuck on my 13” Leblond Regal. I imagine I will need something over 1” thick. What I can find on the web seems a bit expensive. Any ideas? Thanks! Jeff

    Old and new audio from running the spindle… Old: New: It is difficult to hear the spindle at all over the VFD with the new bearings. I’m pumped! My sincere appreciation to everyone for the help! Fingers crossed the bearings last. 🤪 Thanks! Jeff
