    Sorry, misleading wording. Actual tolerance is +/-0.0015" and I'm wondering if, accounting for wear on with HSS, wouldn't exceed -0.0005" up to 500 holes.

    I've not really needed to use any reamers yet in volume. With the correct feeds, how many holes should a 0.3900" (0.25" depth) sized reamer hold +0.0000"/-0.0005" in 6061 aluminum? Is HSS capable of 250-500 holes or should I consider carbide? Any good brand of budget friendly reamers?

    Yup, I'm now told the Phase Perfect 10hp has 50A hall sensors which throw an over-current at 4x (200A) and the 15hp and 20hp have 100A rated hall sensors.     I'll try the elevator mode - the PP manual states it's specifically for starting motors but maybe it holds the power better in all situations. So far I have no issues starting the spindle, only an issue on deceleration or stopping.

    Thanks for the feedback. It's the latest gen Phase Perfect. I think you're right about the DC Buss issue. The PP is apparently 'upgrade-able' to run the 20hp spec board - this might be something I have to talk to them about. Perhaps the PP is cutting out due to the regen hence the 'low voltage'...
