440c rusting in wire EDM tank
My opinion ....Dump some rust preventative into the water. I had some severe rusting on a job and about a gallon of solution stopped it.....- JS

Starrett to Rationalize Product Line
I actually use the Last word, cut my teeth on one when I started the trade 25 years ago....... I made a couple of accessories to reach into places, that it due to its size, it fits perfectly... Used along side Best Test, Intrepid, compact ......etc... If it was on sale, and I could justify... -
New Machine Day! Makino U6
Yes, I stand by that statement, two filters are not enough. I use the U6 primarily to cut carbide wear blocks for a mine crusher, used as a glorified bandsaw.......lol The average run time is about 20 hours each liner... I just can't keep the tank clean. Eventually, it will cause me all sorts...- JS

New Machine Day! Makino U6
It's a very nice machine... I've been running one for 5 years now, with PICO guides..... I would of recommended the U6 HEAT.. with 4 filter instead of 2 ..... Currently trying to talk the boss into a stand alone filter system .....- JS

Alternative Materials to Bronze for high-load bushings... are there any?
954 aluminum bronze will wear pins, if not greased........ 841oilite bronze & 660 leaded bronze seems to be used in about everything with bushings............ How hard can it be? You just have to figure out bronze, figure out a seal .......make them do the maintenance....... When in doubt...
