    G76 for internal threading?

I have a 96 Hwacheon with Fanuc OT and mostly use a USB in tape mode but wanted to accomplish some internal threading using the G76 command. For internal threading is it simply change X(u) to the negative -Diameter? FORMAT G76 P(m) (r) (a) Q(∆dmin) R(d) G76 X(u) Z(w) R(i) P(k) Q(∆d) F(f) ex)...

Cincinnati Toolmaster 1D; are my dogs fried?

Took a cut today and the dogs disengaged so I tore the head apart. The culprit seems to be the ball detent groove on the main shaft is worn allowing the shaft to sit lower than it should. My plan is to drill a new hole in the sleeve to hold the ball and spring so that it contacts the shaft along...

First press brake; are my dies wrong?

I couldnt get less than around 95 degrees. I checked the upper and lower dies with a machinist square and they both appear to be 90 degrees. Should I try to find more acute dies or is it worthwhile to machine the dies I have?

First press brake; are my dies wrong?

I picked up a chicago 135 press brake and was test bending some 18 ga stainless with these dies and it did not get to 90 no matter the stroke adjustment so I am guessing my dies are incorrect. I pulled them from a pile from the seller and evaporusted them before testing them out.

Need help with Fanuc 0T-C offset settings

Thanks for the input guys. I found that the wear offsets were huge 3+ inches and that was throwing everything way off. I set them all to zero, ran the program and made my first CNC lathe parts without crashing or breaking anything. I set up a USB DNC system from Highland CNC because I will be...

    Mori crossfeed screw question

I had the dial removed to show the jam nuts. I repeated the tightening and each time ran the cross slide back and forth a few time and after a few of these, it seemed to finally stay tight. Perhaps the bearings needed to be run in for a bit.

    Mori crossfeed screw question

Looking at the 2 nuts that retain the outer thrust bearing, it looks like I am missing a washer or something to keep these nuts in place. They quickly loosen after moving the crossfeed screw back and forth a few times. I cant seem to locate a diagram so was wondering if anyone knows what I am...

Looking for suggestions on smaller footprint cnc lathe

I'm considering a small cnc lathe (footprint of around 60" x 115") to use for making my own parts (small runs of simple parts ranging from 2.5" 4140PH to 1" 1018 and all less than 12" lengths). From what I have come across in the used market, a hwacheon hi eco 10 seems to be a good choice but I...
