    OT pump wiring question

I'm hoping this is a easy question for someone with more electrical knowledge than me. I'm replacing one of the pumps on my hot tub. The one that runs the water thru the filter at a slow speed when the tub is not in use and will run at high speed when required for the jets when being used. There...

OT Looking to find out what this bar was made from.

My wife found it in a store named Tuesday Morning. They called it a “carved wooden bar””. I stopped in there yesterday. The only info I could get from them is it was made in India.

I wouldn’t say the banding is decorative but rather decorated. They are structural as nothing would hold the staves in place without them. As M.B. Neagle said “fancy but crude”.

That's what intrigues me about this thing. All the banding has some type of decorative marking on it. Some places are hard to see it because it's worn but it is there.

OT Looking to find out what this bar was made from.

The Top, sides, bottom, shelves and racks are made from different newer wood than the front. The attached pictures show the inside of the wood of the front (grey) and the newer different wood of the rest (brownish) It looks like the sides were cut to fit the profile of the front part and epoxied...

OT Looking to find out what this bar was made from.

The staves are 1-1/4" thick and the lugs ( I assume you're referring to the protrusions on the ends) are wood wrapped with the metal banding. The top ones are 2" thick and protrude 6" and the bottom ones are 1-1/4 thick and protrude 5". The top ones have a 1" dia. blind hole half way thru them...

OT Looking to find out what this bar was made from.

Thanks for your input but I don't think it was always a bar. The side boards and top are much newer wood and the shelves inside are new also. I think the front part with the bands and protrusions was something else and was made into a bar. I like the idea of the protrusions being tenons to fit...

OT Looking to find out what this bar was made from.

My wife and I have been looking for something different than the usual barrel for a bar in our camp. She found the bar in the attached pictures and we brought it home. Definitely not a whiskey barrel and obviously something made by adding the top and back to an old something. My question is what...

    Mold base opinions

I agree with everything implmex has said as far as locating your pockets and machining them. We do it all the time with bases with obsolete parts in them. Depending on the material you will be molding and the number of parts you plan on producing, you might want to consider a pre-hard mold steel...

mold base suppliers.who do you use?

I contacted Superior and they asked for the 3D model. They didn't say they wouldn't or couldn't do it so I'm hopeful. Also contacted National Tool & Mfg. They are going to quote it. Will update when I get a response.

mold base suppliers.who do you use?

With the shortage of qualified moldmakers available to hire and some of the ones we do have getting close to retiring, we're thinking of having some mold bases machined outside so we can concentrate on the core and cavity details in house.I'm talking finished pockets, ej.pin holes, water lines...
