That's the site I originally went to. Try to click any of the links and it gets 404 error.

ME ThreadPal - easy access to thread data

I know this thread is old, but is this program still around? Back in this day, I remember purchasing it, but when I try to go to the site now, it kicks back a 404 error.

We do any and all mining projects. Mainly though, we specialize in crushers, and not just local, but all of Northern Ontario.

    Potential New machine

I've been to the facility in Kentucky, as well as had the opportunity to work on 4 different types of Mazaks. I do have one of their machines in my shortlist, but I haven't posted about it as I already have a lot of feedback plus personal experience with them.

    Potential New machine

All this is good info. Thanks a lot for the input. The 2nd machine in question that I posted from SMS, is discounted pretty good, fits our sizes and specs we're looking for, and is all serviced by the dealer who are only a few hours from us. It has been added to the shortlist. As for the...

    4140 HTSR TGP

Unfortunately it's round material with only one side getting milled. The round part is essentially bowing and without affecting the diameter, I can't really machine or grind.

    4140 HTSR TGP

Hi guys. Quick question about this material relieving. We purchase 4.5" diameter Turned, Ground, and Polished because the application requires it to stay straight within a couple thou. They are about 5 ft long. We have to cut some of the top and some of the sides to create like a square boss to...

    Potential New machine

Hi again guys. Looking at another machine here that I was quoted from SMS. Anyone have this brand? Looking over the specs and it seems like a decent machine. Not sure though about the brand. Again, haven't heard of this make before, granted I've been away from this part of the business for...

    Potential New machine

Chip conveyor is included. I have an actual proposal with the options, however I just wanted to see if any of you knew this brand. The proposal I have has a max federate of 700ipm. There are a few other things that are different, as the link I posted is for the HV8A and what I have here is the...

    Potential New machine

Good morning guys, while i am still in the process of researching this machine that we have proposed to us, I'd like to see if anyone here has this machine or any other machine of the same manufacturer. I have not heard of this brand until recently, and I'd like to get some real world feedback...

    Deburring internal threads

Lol Jesus, so simple. Did not whatsoever even think of that. Thank you, that will work just fine.

    Deburring internal threads

Good morning. I'm wondering if any of you can give some advise to deburr internal threads that have been drilled through. In the case I'm talking about, we have to drill and tap through the sides of nuts, and then they need to screw on the pins, but the burr from the drill and tap is hard to...

    Tapping 2.5" NPT

Can't power tap it. I mentioned that in my original post. The machine doesn't have a handwheel and the spindle doesn't free travel. It's like a CNC but not a cnc. The handwheel is a hand held one with axis selection like a CNC.

    Tapping 2.5" NPT

Ahh, good answers. Thanks for the help fellas. Gonna likely try it and if it doesn't work, we'll send it out.

    Tapping 2.5" NPT

Good morning. Anyone ever cut with a 2.5" NPT tap? I'm not talking about chasing a hole, but rather actual cutting. Here's the thing, we have to make a 2.5" NPT thread in a part (Cast Iron) but it's too high for our VMC to threadmill, and we just have a manual boring mill otherwise, but it...

Formula to change rpm on threading cycle

Hey guys, so what I did for this situation was used the thread chasing function. The nice part about the chasing function I have, is that I can add multiple cuts and not have to do it in just one. So I added the amount of cuts I would take in a normal threading operation, and changed the RPM...

Formula to change rpm on threading cycle

Good afternoon. I was wondering if any of you know the formula to be able to change rpms on a thread cycle on a lathe while maintaining start point. I have a thread that has started chattering really bad halfway and i want to change the rpm, but if I do, my threads won't line up. Is there a...
