    Charmilles Robofil 330F alarm

I designed the plate to have the top surface of the eyelet exactly at .7500", so by your explanation I assume I need to subtract half the thickness of the eyelet from the .7500" and convert to metric for the parameter? Thank you for the very helpful information! In response to your help below...

    Charmilles Robofil 330F alarm

Thanks for the info. I did notice the auto top off feature. In my case the float sensor in the dirty tank needed some maintenance. For our top off system we have plumbed a 5-stage RO/DI filter to a pressurized 20gal water tank. This tank is always topped off by the RO/DI system, and is plumbed...

    Charmilles Robofil 330F alarm

I have this corrected. I called Charmilles phone support (after sending an email to support the day before without reply). I was informed that because we did not purchase the machine from them, yet rather on the used market, we would be required to have a yearly subscription to phone tech...

    Charmilles Robofil 330F alarm

Update - Cleared the 2155 Water Full Compensation in Progress alarm by cleaning the dirty water side high water level float. Took the covers loose and off of the upper head/z-axis to uncover the z-axis overtravel switches. Both check functional. Traced them back to the board (ARMA) they plug...

    Charmilles Robofil 330F alarm

2000 Charmilles Robofil 330F Just purchased it used. Got it hooked up to power and full of water, new filters installed. Fired it up, it is immediately shows Z axis over travel. If you attempt to jog any axis’ or switch to a mode such as REF home, I get a “2155 Water full compensation in...

    Excetek Support in the USA?

Ok, wanted to give a little update on this situation. Apparently YCM was a part owner of Excetek, and has recently acquired either the remainder, or a larger portion of the company. This means service is now being handled by YCM, and parts are located and shipped out of California. Time will...

    Excetek Support in the USA?

Thanks for the input, and sadly I feel you are partly right. Parts ARE available, and factory support seems to be ok. The issue is the only person I seem to be able to speak to is this particular service manager. Every time we need something, it's a struggle to deal with him. Fortunately, the...

    Excetek Support in the USA?

Ok, so I have had an Excetek wire EDM for several years now (purchased used). Overall I am happy with the machine. What I am not happy with is the service. I have a contact to the "Service Manager" located in Ohio. It appears as though he may be the sole service guy for the US? The issue I have...

Servo Driven ATC home position setting (fanuc)

We got it working. We had to enter maintenance mode and use the diagnostics page to manually step through the tools changer positions to get it all in a ready position.

Servo Driven ATC home position setting (fanuc)

We are installing/setting up a used Niigata HN80D horizontal. We are getting a diagnostic code (104) explaining that the "ATC arm not at any position". Control is a Fanuc 16i. Anyone have a suggestion? We have a call into Niigata support, waiting on a return call. Just figured someone may have a...

Mori MT-2000 Tailstock Joint Position Adjustment help

Ok, So we have a new to us 2005 Mori MT-2000. Just got power hooked up today, and testing functions. Everything is working as expected so far with the exception of moving the tailstock. The manual says I need to command a M479 Q1; for the turret (milling head, but for simplicity I'll call it the...

Dimensioning parts sheet or data table

Man, I really like that add-on, but $4k for it? That is darn near another seat of Solidworks standard! We use Solidworks for our CAD, and HSMWorks for our CAM. Because I get HSMWorks with our Fusion360 entitlement, I have been opening Fusion, and using the new option for creating manual...

Commanding specific rotation direction with 4th axis

Just wanted to give a follow up. I ended up using all incremental moves in my sub program to get it working. Obviously this will not work for everything, but it short term solved the issue.

Commanding specific rotation direction with 4th axis

Tried that, no dice. I ended up just making all the moves incremental, as this is a simple profile. I'll need to figure it out another time though for more complex parts.

Commanding specific rotation direction with 4th axis

In regards to G91 incremental move, that may work, unfortunately, it is on a simultaneous 3-axis move containing absolute positions. Parameter wise, I looked through the parameter manuals for the machine, and could not locate a default direction, or shortest direction parameter listed, although...

Commanding specific rotation direction with 4th axis

Ok, I have a sub program I am trying to run, where I would like a the part to rotate back and forth. Unfortunately, the rotary seems to only want to rotate in the positive direction. Here is a sample of my code. I have tried it with A180. and A-180. Both always continue in the positive direction...

    Dirty water in cutting tank..

More help than you are taking credit for. Sometimes knowing you're on the right track is just as important. I appreciate everyone taking the time to answer my questions.

    Dirty water in cutting tank..

Yes, the slot areas are solid, with the exception of the .377" hole through, and a single 1/4-20 blind hole on each side. The part does spring open .003" total per slot at the open end from stress relief, but I cannot imagine it did that quick enough to pinch anything. I have the wire starting...

    Dirty water in cutting tank..

Clean and clear. It may be worth mentioning, this part has two identical slots side by side. The cross hole runs completely through the part. The problem side is always on the right hand side of the slots. My thoughts were an issue with flushing possibly, but still cannot get it to make any...
